output_KiOHLBTen years in business for Spa Serenity, Wow! Ten years ago I was a single girl with a plan (I use the word ‘plan’ very loosely). I left my Massage therapist job in Wisconsin Dells to open a small day spa on 3rd Street in Baraboo. I borrowed money against my house, found renters and moved in to my mom’s basement. April 2006, Spa Serenity opened its doors for business on 3rd Street in Downtown Baraboo.

Later that year, I met Steve who became my husband and business partner (what a lucky guy!). The first years were rough, but we kept growing and stabilizing personally and professionally! Along the way we added to beautiful children to the cocktail that had become our life. Around year 5 we began to feel the pinch for space in our building. We spent the next 3 years studying a half dozen plans for possible expansion; then in 2014 we purchased the adjacent building and expanded the operation, doubling the spas’ size.

Now here we are in 2016 thinking about how to mark this 10 year milestone for Spa Serenity. We had a dynamite party when we completed the expansion in October of 2014. How would we top that event and what kind of impact could we make in the community? In late 2015 a staff member suggested that we host a Farm to Table Dinner on 3rd Street. BINGO! Eureka!-this was the answer!

2016 is the year for Spa Serenity to give back. We have plans to give back to our Staff, our community, and our loyal guests who have supported us for the last 10 years. Spa Serenity is my first invitation-5x7-farm-to-table-dinner_SSerenity-2-hi-gotprintbaby, and it takes a village to raise a child and in this case I have the whole community to thank. A small business is not a job, it’s a lifestyle for the whole family (biological and non-biological).

An investment in Baraboo’s children is an investment in the future. The ‘Farm to Pavement’ dinner is Spa Serenity’s way to give back to the community. Spa Serenity has partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Baraboo Sauk County. Funds raised will be used to assist them with their ‘Kids Café’, an initiative which will provide regular balanced, delicious meals to the ‘Kids’ of the Club. Not only with the ‘Kids Café’ put food in the member’s bellies, it will also teach the kids to grow, preserve and prepare their own healthy food.

“Give a child a fish he eats for a day. Teach a child to fish and he eats for a lifetime.”

The Baraboo community has embraced Spa Serenity and we are grateful. The community has helped us grow a dream into a sustainable business, that today provides jobs for 29 staff members. Join us in celebration of 10 years! Enjoy a ‘Farm to Pavement Dining Experience’ right here on 3rd Street.

The event/evening begins with craft cocktails, followed by a Wisconsin organic farm raised pork dinner served family style, dessert and interactive entertainment under the Stars.

Spa Serenity has created am unheard of event for Baraboo that is certain not to disappoint! Please join us.
